Carson Pettit
Photographer, Artist, Designer
I’m a senior Media Arts and Design student at James Madison University, double majoring in Art and Interactive Design. My work spans from traditional art to user-centered digital design. Welcome to my portfolio!
Film Phototgraphy
After my dad gifted me his manual 35 mm camera from the 80s, I fell in love with film. I’m especially interested in manipulations creating double exposures and collages.
On Exhibition
My artwork was recently selected for the Risen Seniors Exhibition in August 2025 at James Madison University.
“Work in Progress” (2024). Collage on matboard, 13 x 16 in
“Airport” (2024). Double exposure on matboard, 11 x 14 in
Physical Art
As a hands-on learner, I have always been passionate about creating art by hand. I have experience in a variety of mediums including oil paint, acrylic paint, gouache paint, wire, clay, needle felt, colored pencil, stipple pen, and charcoal.

My artwork was also selected for the Delayed Gratification Exhibition in December 2025 at James Madison University.
“Oculus” (2025). Oil on canvas, 24 x 24 in
“String Theory” (2025). Oil and string on canvas, 24 x 36 in
Interactive Design
My interactive and graphic design courses have emphasized client-based projects, where I developed logos, branding, and promotional materials while refining skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
